The much-awaited moment has finally arrived as the team for the remainder of the three matches has been announced. After the Indian team registered a thumping win against the England team in the second Test by 106 runs, the fans as well as the cricketing fraternity were waiting for Virat Kohli to return. Due to personal reasons, the star India batter Virat Kohli will remain absent from the series.
Additionally, batter Shreyas Iyer has been excluded from the team, reportedly due to a groin injury as per certain sources. The two players who were sidelined due to injury and missed the second Test, all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja and wicketkeeper-batter KL Rahul, have been reinstated into the team. However, they will need fitness clearance before they can join the action. Additionally, pacer Akash Deep from the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) has received his maiden Test call-up for India.
Avesh Khan was granted permission to participate in the ongoing Ranji Trophy and has subsequently been omitted from the squad. Conversely, Akash was chosen by the selection committee as a potential option in the pace department. Just days ago, in an unofficial day's game against the England Lions, Akash showcased his impressive bowling skills.

Virat Kohli informs the Indian Cricket Board about his unavailability
Putting an end to the ongoing speculations, Virat Kohli has purportedly communicated his decision to the officials of the Indian Cricket Board, the selection committee, and the Indian team management regarding his withdrawal from the remaining three Tests against England due to personal reasons. Kohli had been absent from the first two Tests held in Hyderabad and Visakhapatnam for the same reason.
Earlier reports indicated that Kohli, expected to miss the third and fourth Tests as well, had yet to reach out to the Indian Cricket Board officials. However, on Friday, he informed the selectors about his unavailability, as reported by The Indian Express. For the first time since his debut, Kohli will be absent from every Test match in a home series. Undoubtedly, this is a significant setback for the Indian batting lineup, which has been struggling to produce substantial runs and has predominantly relied on individual brilliance throughout this series.
Team India Squad: Rohit Sharma (C), Jasprit Bumrah (VC), Yashasvi Jaiswal, Shubman Gill, KL Rahul*, Rajat Patidar, Sarfaraz Khan, Dhruv Jurel (WK), KS Bharat (WK), R Ashwin, Ravindra Jadeja*, Axar Patel, Washington Sundar, Kuldeep Yadav, Mohd. Siraj, Mukesh Kumar, Akash Deep
