As India have now crashed out of the ongoing 20-20 World Cup 2022, all eyes are fixed on the upcoming Indian T20 League 2023 mini-auction and the fans await the ‘Players Retention’ list from all of the 10 franchises ahead of the much-awaited auction to be held on December 23, in Kochi.

As things stand, it has now been reported that the Hyderabad franchise have planned to release three of their star players and all other franchises will fix their targets out of the three, as all of them can fit into any franchise.

Nicholas Pooran, the West Indies white-ball captain, who was bought by the franchise for a whopping INR 10.75 crore in the 2022 Indian T20 League mega auction, is all set to bid goodbye to the Orange Army in the upcoming edition. For the unversed, the batter contributed a decent 306 runs with the bat in 2022 at a strike rate of 144.34.

Romario Sheperd to depart from Orange Army

If the reports are to be believed further, Romario Sheperd, the fellow Caribbean, is all set to leave the Orange Army as well. The allrounder was bought for INR 7.72 crore in the 2022 mega auction and contributed only 58 runs in the 3 matches that he played. And with the ball, the West Indies star cricketer managed to rack up only 3 wickets to his name, disappointing the team management and the fans.

Sean Abbott, the cricketer from Australia who made it to the squad for a price tag of INR 2.4 crore in 2022, is all set to be released by the franchise ahead of the mini-auction. In the sole appearance he made for the team in 2022, Abbott managed to pick up one scalp and went for 47 runs at an economy of over 11.

However, the franchise is all set to retain their star player from New Zealand Kane Williamson and it remains to see if the Kiwi player would continue his stint as the captain in the upcoming edition as well. Along with Williamson, the team management is all set to retain Glenn Phillips, Marco Jansen, Aiden Markram and Fazalhaq Farooqi.
