In less than three weeks the IPL 2024 tournament will begin. Ten teams will fight for the biggest prize in a domestic T20 tournament across the world. Chennai Super Kings are the current champions having won the title in 2023 beating Gujarat Titans in the finals. 

Just like every season, there will be eyes on the biggest youngsters in the tournament. Yashasvi Jaiswal stole the show last year with his amazing batting. This helped the left-handed batter win the Emerging Player Of the Year award. 

In this article, we take a closer look at the top five likely candidates for Emerging Player of the Year during IPL 2024. 

5 – Tilak Varma – 


The youngster has shown immense talent with the bat ever since his debut in the IPL. Tilak Varma has become a huge hit since his debut for the Indian Cricket team. Coming onto his 3rd season the focus and onus on Tilak Varma to score runs will be high. If he can help MI win their 6th title he will be a huge contender for the IPL Emerging Player of the Year. 

4- Gerald Coetzee – 


South Africa’s latest pace sensation took the world by storm during the 2023 ODI World Cup. These exploits earned him a contract with the Mumbai Indians for the IPL 2024 season. If he can replicate what he did in the ODI World Cup, Gerald Coetzee will be a handful. This will also make him a huge candidate for the IPL Emerging Player of the Year. Mumbai Indians fans will also hope that the youngster can help win them their 6th title this year. 

3- Kartik Tyagi – 


Young Kartik Tyagi has been spoken about as the next big-pace hope from India. Gujarat Titans got the youngster for a mere INR 20 Lakhs. With his death bowling skills and genuine pace, Kartik Tyagi is an exciting prospect. This makes the right-arm pacer a prime candidate to win the IPL Emerging Player of the Year award. With India set to play a lot of cricket this year, Kartik Tyagi will hope for an excellent season. 

2- Arshin Kulkarni – 


Young Arshin Kulkarni will be a huge candidate to win the IPL Emerging Player of the Year award. The 19-year-old played a key role in India reaching the finals of the Under-19 World Cup 2024. Arshin Kulkarni is a safe batter with the ability to play attractive shots and also is a decent medium pacer.

India’s latest sensation Dhruv Jurel announced himself to the world during the IPL 2023 season. This earned him a call-up to the Indian team where he has performed well against England. Last year, Yashasvi Jaiswal won the IPL Emerging player of the Year award and this Dhruv Jurel has the chance to do the same.
