MS Dhoni after IPL 2023 Final

Chennai Super Kings skipper MS Dhoni has hinted at playing a 'New' role ahead of the IPL 2024. Less than three weeks are left at the start of the tournament. His team will play the opening game against Royal Challengers Bangalore at home as his team is the defending champions. Meanwhile, ahead of the season, the former India skipper has left the fans in suspense.

The Ranchi player has been notorious for leaving his fans in suspense. After the 2019 ODI World Cup, Dhoni didn't answer the fans' queries about his future at the highest level. Only on 15th August 2020, he, alongside Suresh Raina announced their retirement from international cricket. Two seasons back, the three-time World Event-winning captain for India stepped down from the IPL captaincy.

However, during the season (eight games later), the 42-year-old was asked to take back his captaincy from Ravindra Jadeja. The team ended up finishing ninth in the table. A year later, the team ended up winning the title under him. It will be interesting to see what role he has been given for the upcoming season.

MS Dhoni can play one more season of the IPL: Paramjit Singh

Meanwhile, Dhoni's childhood friend, Singh has claimed that the wicketkeeper batter can play one more season of the IPL.

"I do not think this will be his (Dhoni’s) last season. He is still fit. I think he will play one or two more seasons. He will definitely play one more season. The reason is he is fit," Paramjit told OneCricket.

Notably, after the previous season, there were concerns about him playing again as he played carrying knee niggles.
