A new chapter of India's biggest cricket spectacle, the Indian Premier League (IPL), is around the corner. The 17th edition of the cash-rich league is scheduled to take place from March 22 across 10 vibrant cities and the hype is slowly building. The curtain raiser pits defending champions Chennai Super Kings (CSK) against Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB), setting the mega stage on fire.
With less than a month to go before the kick-off, the tournament's official broadcaster Star Sports has released a promo video on its social media to generate more excitement among fans. The one-and-a-half-minute-long video features top Indian stars like Hardik Pandya, Shreyas Iyer, KL Rahul and Rishabh Pant.

Rishabh Pant set to make a blockbuster return
The 2024 IPL will see Team India's flamboyant wicketkeeper batter Rishabh Pant making a return to competitive cricket after more than a year. The 26-year-old has been sidelined since a horrific car accident in December 2022. He had to undergo multiple surgeries but thankfully showed quick progress in his recovery. Delhi Capitals (DC) have confirmed that Pant will feature in the upcoming edition as both captain and pure batter.
Huge responsibility awaits Hardik Pandya at Mumbai Indians
With Rohit Sharma removed from the Mumbai Indians' captaincy and Hardik Pandya taking over the reins, the five-time champions will not be the same as before. They had to face severe backlash from fans after the massive decision ahead of the IPL 2024 mini-auction. Although Pandya has proved his captaincy excellence by leading Gujarat Titans to glory in the 2022 season and the finals last season, it will not be easy for the all-rounder to carry on MI's legacy. It will be interesting to see how Pandya will lead the star-studded team in the upcoming edition.
