At the toss of the 2023 Indian Premier League (IPL) match between the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) at Lucknow's Ekana Stadium, MS Dhoni steadfastly declined to declare his retirement. Dhoni responded in jest when Danny Morrison inquired about the progress of his final league campaign.

Danny Morrison asked," How you're enjoying your last season?" "You've decided that it's my last season, not me," Dhoni replied with a laugh. Dany Morrison then declared to the audience that Dhoni would return in 2024 as they laughed heartily together. The video of the incident has gone viral on social media, with fans flooding the comments.

Here's the viral video:

CSK has chosen to bowl first after winning the toss. Once again healthy, Deepak Chahar has replaced Akash Singh in the starting lineup.

MS Dhoni and Danny Morrison also had the famous 'Definitely Not' episode in IPL 2020

Many people were brought back to the famous "Definitely Not" comment Dhoni made to Morrison during the 2020 IPL, which had gone viral, by his cheeky exchange with the latter. Since Dhoni is still competing despite having a knee injury, many have speculated that this will be his final campaign. The fact that Dhoni said the Kolkata fans were sending him off after CSK defeated KKR was a clue that the 2023 season would be his last.

"I will just say thanks for the support; they came in big numbers. Most of these guys will come in a KKR jersey next time. They are trying to give me a farewell, so thanks a lot to the crowd," Dhoni had said at Eden Gardens.

Dhoni has twice led CSK to the IPL championship and is the second-most successful captain in league history. Having won five and lost four of their first nine games this season, CSK are in an excellent position to make the playoffs. After playing his final game for India in the heartbreaking semi-final loss to New Zealand at the 2019 World Cup, Dhoni retired from international cricket in 2020.
