The cricket governing body has announced the prize money for the Test Championship 2021-23. And the final of the competition is only less than two weeks away, which will be played between India and Australia starting on June 7 at The Oval in London.

Meanwhile, the apex body of cricket has increased the prize money this time. The team that wins the title of 2021-23 will be given INR 13 crore as prize money. The team that win the title this time will get about INR 1 crore 29 lahks more than the previous winning team. 6.5 crore will be given to the runner-up. Excluding the winner and runner-up, South Africa will be given INR 3.5 crore, England 2.8 crore, and Sri Lanka 1.6 crore while New Zealand, Pakistan, West Indies, and Bangladesh will be given Rs 82-82 lakh as prize money.ย 

Can India lift the Test Mace this time?

Earlier, the Indian team reached the final of the Test Championship of the first cycle played in 2019-21 but they had to face defeat against New Zealand in the final. However, this time the Indian team will try to give a tough fight to Australia in the final. Most of the players of both teams have reached England. Some players from India and Australia are already playing county cricket in England and others are still busy in the ongoing 16th edition of the Indian Premier League, however, they all will be in England at the end of this month.

The final of the World Test Championship of the first cycle was played in 2021 between India and New Zealand. The New Zealand team was victorious in this title match and they were awarded INR 11.71 crore as prize money. And the runner-up India got INR 5.8 crore. Apart from this, Australia were given 3.3 crores, England was 2.5 crores, Pakistan was 1.5 crores and other teams were given Rs 73-73 lakhs.
