Delhi Capitals skipper David Warner turned into a right-handed batter while batting against Mumbai Indians in match number 16 of IPL 2023 at the Arun Jaitley stadium in Delhi. The left-handed batter changed his stance to play the free hit bowled by Hrithik Shokeen.
In the eighth over of the first innings, Shokeen overstepped in the third ball of the over and Manish Pandey took a single to bring Warner on strike. After that, when the umpire signaled for a no-ball, the DC skipper turned into a right-handed batter to play the free hit. Warner mistimed the short-length delivery by Shokeen and could take only 1 run off the extra ball and couldn’t take full advantage of a free hit. However, a delivery later, the ball found the inside edge of Pandey’s bat that flew past the wicketkeeper’s gloves for a boundary.
Talking about the match, MI won the toss and decided to bowl first. Batting first DC were looking for a flying start as Warner and Prithvi Shaw added 33 runs for the first wicket in 3.4 overs. Shaw got out in the fourth over trying to take on Shokeen with a slog sweep but ended up giving a catch to Cameron Green at square leg. After that, Warner and Manish Pandey took the innings further by adding 43 runs for the second wicket. Pandey got out after scoring 26 off 18 trying to take on Piyush Chawla in the ninth over but ended up giving a catch to Jason Behrendorff in the deep.

The 29-year-old got out after scoring 54 runs off 25 balls with four fours and five sixes. He ended up giving a catch to Arshad Khan at deep square leg in the first ball of the 19th over by Behrendorff. A delivery later, Warner also lost his wicket by playing across the line, but the short mistimed, and Cameron took the catch at the backward point.
The DC skipper got out after scoring 51 off 47 hitting six boundaries. In the next delivery, MI got the third wicket in the over as Kuldeep Yadav got run out trying to take a single. In the last ball of the over, Behrendorff got his third and MI got his fourth wicket as Abishek Porel got out after giving a catch to Green at mid-off.

This ain't tik tok that people will laugh it off. There are stakes here. Things like this make me wonder about the behaviour of SRH management with him and the recent DC owner tweet.Maybe he doesn't take franchise cricket seriously.#DCvMI
