After a wait of four months, the third season of the Lanka Premier League is set to start on December 6. It was originally slotted to be played in August this year. However, due to political and economic unrest in the island nation, the tournament was postponed for further date. Finally, after a long wait, the third season will finally be played.
Talking about the teams, as many as five teams will play in the tournament will participate. Jaffna Kings will be defending their title, having won the first two seasons. They have the opportunity to win three back-to-back, only done by Sydney Sixers in the Big Bash League. No other team has won three back-to-back T20 League titles.
