Former legendary Indian cricketer Sachin Tendulkar celebrated his 50th birthday on Monday, April 24. The Master Blaster holds many records in the game and many of them are unbreakable. Tendulkar began his international career at the age of 16 in 1989 and played for India’s national cricket team for almost 24 years till he announced his retirement at the age of 40 in 2013.

Meanwhile, former legendary Australian captain Ricky Ponting heaped praise on Tendulkar and said that he is the most technical batter in the game he has ever seen. He even recalled how Tendulkar used to find a way to counter every plan they used to make against him whether it was in India or Australia.

"I've said forever Sachin's technically the best batter that I've ever seen and played with or against. Whatever plan that we came up with as a bowling group, he found a way to combat it, whether it was in India or Australia. It's hard to rank and judge players as everyone is different and everyone plays the game differently. But certainly, through the generation that I played, he was technically the best player that I saw," Ponting was quoted as saying by Hindustan Times.

Virat Kohli an unbelievably good player: Ricky Ponting

Meanwhile, when he was asked to make a comparison between Tendulkar and the modern-day great Virat Kohli, Ponting thought it would be very difficult to compare both these players as they played in different eras so it'd be easier to compare them when Kohli will take retirement.

"Regardless of how many runs you make, how many hundreds you make, to be physically good enough and have a skillset set good enough to stand up and play 200 Test matches is amazing. Virat's got all that ahead of him just yet. He's an unbelievably good player, there's no doubt about that. He's got over 70-odd international hundreds now. Sachin made a 100, didn't he? Let's wait until Virat's career's over and then I think it'll a much fairer comparison," Ponting added.
