Mumbai Indians star batter Suryakumar Yadav continued his Golden form in the ongoing season of the Indian Premier League as he smashed his maiden IPL hundred in the ongoing match against Gujarat Titans. The 32-year-old just took 49 balls to reach the triple-figure as MI posted a huge total of 218 runs for the loss of 5 wickets in their 20 overs.

After being asked to bat first, skipper Rohit Sharma and Ishan Kishan gave a flying start to MI they put up an opening partnership of 61 runs for the first wicket in 6.1 overs. Rohit got out after scoring 29 runs off 18 balls hitting three fours and two sixes. While a couple of deliveries later, Kishan also lost his wicket after scoring 31 off 20 balls hitting four fours and a maximum as Rashid Khan struck twice in the same over.

After that, Suryakumar Yadav took charge of the innings as he went to smash his maiden IPl century. He added 65 runs with Vishnu Vinod for the fourth wicket. Vinod got out after scoring 30 runs off 20 balls hitting two fours and two sixes. After that, Surykamar took the innings further as he remained unbeaten on 103 runs off just 49 balls hitting 11 fours and six sixes.

GT had a disastrous start chasing 219 runs

Suryakumar smashed a six on the last ball of the innings to reach the triple-figure. His innings helped MI to go past 210 runs. For GT, Rashid Khan scalped 4 wickets by conceding 30 runs in his four overs. While Mohit Sharma put 1 in his bag. Meanwhile, GT didn’t had a great start while chasing 219 runs as they already lost 5 wickets under 100 runs. Rahul Tewatia and David Miller are still at the crease taking GT’s innings further.

Suryakumar is having a great outing in IPL 2023 so far after he didn’t had a great start to the tournament. He has amassed 479 runs in 12 matches played in the ongoing season at an average of 43.54 and a staggering strike rate of 190.83. Now, he has also jumped to the third position in the list of leading run scorers of the season
