Indian Cricket Board secretary Jay Shah has said that three member nations have written to the Cricket Governing Council for a change in their World Cup schedules. The 2023 ODI World Cup schedule will undergo a few changes one of which will be the India Vs Pakistan match on 15th October, although officials maintain the much-awaited World Cup clash will stay in Gujarat’s Ahmedabad.

Shah's comments come after it was revealed this week that the Indian Cricket Board was considering delaying the India vs. Pakistan match in Ahmedabad from October 15 to October 14. He did note that the boards of numerous other nations have written to the BCCI expressing logistical concerns for their teams and demanding changes. He did not, however, name the teams as well.

There is a possibility there could be few changes in the schedule: Jay Shah

Jay Shah stated, "There is a possibility there could be few changes in the schedule. Several Full Member countries have written in requesting to change two or three dates in the schedule. We are working out with the ICC, and we should be able to clear it in two or three days."

Shah, however, categorically dismissed that as the reason, "If security was an issue then why would the match go there (to Ahmedabad) 14-15 is not the problem. Two or three boards have written in, asking to change based on the logistical challenges. There are some matches where there is only a two-day gap, so it will be difficult to play and then travel next day ."

The Indian Cricket Board has stated that actual tickets will be available for the 2018 World Cup. According to sources, the board is unclear whether mechanisms are in place to conduct an e-ticketing exercise at high-capacity stadiums in India.

Free drinking water will be provided for fans. The tournament is scheduled to begin on October 5, with reigning champions England taking on New Zealand in Ahmedabad, but the Cricket Governing Body and the Indian Cricket Board have not yet announced when the tickets will go on sale.
