MS Dhoni reminisces new hairstyle inspired by fan art, reminds fans of his vintage days

The iconic Indian cricket captain, Mahendra Singh Dhoni, has once again become the centre of attention due to a recent hairstyle change. Despite his minimal social media presence at the age of 42, his new haircut has gained significant global attention, reflecting his immense popularity.

Notably, Dhoni, accompanied by celebrity hairstylist Aalim Hakim, showcased his fresh look during a promotional photoshoot, as shared by Hakim. The inspiration for this hairstyle reportedly came from a fan's image depicting Dhoni with long hair. The cricketer and hairstylist Hakim made a pact to style his hair in this manner once it grew long again.

“It’s an amazing opportunity for any creative person to get associated with Mahendra Singh Dhoni and I’m always grateful that I get this honour to show my craft by styling his hair,” Hakim mentioned in his Instagram post.

Beyond his remarkable cricketing skills, Dhoni is popularly known as "Captain Cool." He has consistently made headlines for his dynamic playing style and occasional changes in hairstyles throughout his illustrious career.

Initially donning long hair when representing Team India in international cricket. In addition to this, Dhoni underwent a significant hairstyle transformation after securing the inaugural T20 World Cup in 2007. He also led India to their second Cricket World Cup title in 2011. In the recently concluded IPL, Dhoni's team, CSK, clinched the title, marking another triumph in his career. This victory also elevated the CSK franchise to the status of the most successful IPL franchise, sharing this distinction with the Mumbai Indians.
