At the end of day 2 of the WTC final at Oval, Australia continued to have a tight hold with India still trailing by 318 runs. Rohit Sharma and Co. managed to bundle out Australia for 469 runs in the first innings. M Siraj was the pick of the bowlers for India as he returned with four wickets while giving away 108 runs in 28.3 overs. Siraj was the one who got India the first breakthrough in the form of Usman Khawaja.

He also helped the team find the first wicket on day 2 in the form of Travis Head. The Indian fast bowler then added two more to his tally by accounting for the wickets of Cummins and Lyon. During his spell on day 2, Siraj also hogged limelight when he expressed his frustration on Steve Smith.

It was the start of day 2 and Smith had already struck two fours off Siraj, thanks to full-length lose deliveries. Later, after that, when the Indian fast bowler ran into bowl, Smith pulled out at the last moment due to some issues with the Spider-cam.

Siraj, who was seemed visibly upset by that, threw the ball at the stumps in frustration. Smith then issued clarification on not playing the delivery but Siraj was in no mood to entertain that.

The fans were upset with Siraj’s gesture and lashed out at him for his behavior on social media. Later, the Indian fast bowler downplayed the act by stating that he was just enjoying the moment and there was nothing serious.

"It's nothing. It was just some enjoyment. If you enjoy - your mind will be relaxed. If you take too much pressure, it will affect your bowling. So, it's nothing," Siraj said at the end of Day 2.

"It was nothing. No plans of frustrating him. I was just enjoying my bowling. I was frustrated at that time,” he further added.

Here’s a look at how fans reacted to that:
