Cummins in the short spell of his captaincy has achieved great milestones. He first won the World Test Championship (WTC) against India, then he retained the Ashes trophy in England, and finally won the sixth ODI World Cup trophy. The pacer has shown some brilliant leadership qualities on the field. The Aussies played brilliantly in the tournament as they came back after losing the first two matches of the competition. They beat the best side of the World Cup in the final as India was on a 10-match unbeaten run to the final.

After the inclusion of Travis Head, the scenario of the dressing room changes fully. He gave the starts they needed and played some brilliant knocks with the most important knock coming in the final against the Men in Blue where he scored 137 runs in a run chase of 241 runs.

I think that's the pinnacle of international cricket: Pat Cummins

Cummins after the win said, "That's huge, I think that's the pinnacle of international cricket, winning a one-day World Cup. Especially over here in India, in front of a crowd like this. Yeah, that's huge. Yeah, it’s been a big year for everyone, but our cricket team has been here in India, Ashes, World Test Championship and top it off with this is just huge and these are the moments that you'll remember for the rest of your life."

"The pitch played pretty well, it was quite slow and had no bounce, but I don't think the bounce was anything different to anywhere else in the tournament. It probably didn't spin as much as I thought it would. Yesterday it looked really dry, but it was quite firm today. Yeah, the wicket was fine really."
