Former Indian captain MS Dhoni is one of the greatest captains to ever play the game. Commonly known as ‘Captain Cool’, Dhoni took retirement from international cricket in August 2020. However, he continued to play in the Indian T20 League and even led the Chennai-based franchise to win the 14th edition of the cash-rich league.

Meanwhile, recently, the legendary wicketkeeper-batter was seen in the Indian Army uniform in Jodhpur as he was attending a program arranged by the Indian army. The wicketkeeper batter was earlier in Chennai to prepare himself for the upcoming 16th season of the Indian T20 League.

Back in 2011, the former Indian skipper was given the honorary title of Lieutenant Colonel by the Indian Territorial Army. He was also posted in the anti-terrorist unit in Kashmir. After the World Cup, Dhoni played in the Indian T20 League in 2011 and went for a break. He did not even go with the Indian team on the West Indies tour for the ODI series but played the Test series. The right-hander also experienced duty for 15 days in the para commando battalion.

This could be Dhoni's last Indian T20 League participation

Dhoni, widely regarded as one of cricket's all-time best captains, guided the Indian team to victories in both the 20-20 World Cup in 2007 and the 50-over World Cup in 2011. During a successful cricket career, he also took home two apex cricket bodies Test Maces. It's interesting to note that India won its final major in 2013, i.e the Champions Trophy.

Meanwhile, it is commonly believed that Dhoni will make his final appearance in the upcoming 16th season However, there is no official confirmation of this as of yet. In the first game of the richest league in the world, the Chennai-based franchise will take on the defending champions Gujarat on March 31 at the Narendra Modi stadium in Ahmedabad.

Dhoni will be leading Chennai for the 14th time in his career. He led the team to become champions for four times making them the second most successful team in the history of the Indian T20 League after Mumbai who have won the title five times.
