Multan Sultans and Karachi Kings locked horns in their campaign opener of the ongoing PSL 2024 (Pakistan Super League 2024). Both teams played this match at the Multan Cricket Stadium in Multan on Sunday, February 18. The hosts Multan batted first as the Kings’ skipper Shan Masood chose to bowl after winning the toss.

Batting first, the Sultans posted a decent total of 185 runs for the loss of 2 wickets in the allotted 20 overs. Star number 3 batter Reeza Hendricks played a fiery knock of 79 runs off just 54 balls, with 7 fours and 3 sixes. Apart from him, opener Dawid Malan also scored a half-century, hitting 52 runs off 41 balls, with 4 fours and a six followed by Khushdil Shah’s unbeaten 28 runs off just 18 balls, with 4 fours.

Only Shoaib Malik and Mir Hamza could scalp one wicket each for the Karachi Kings in the first innings.

It was only the veteran batter Shoaib Malik who played a struggled knock of 53 runs off 35 balls, with 5 fours and 2 sixes. However, it ended up being of no use as none of the other batters was seen coming up with a fighting spirit against the bowling attack of Multan.
