World No. 1 T20I batter Suryakumar Yadav is likely to lead the Indian team against Ireland in the upcoming T20I series in August. In the absence of senior players such as Rohit Sharma and Hardik Pandya, the Indian Cricket Board might consider sending a second-string team with Suryakumar to Ireland. It's worth noting that From July 27 to August 13, the Men in Blue will play eight white-ball matches (three ODIs and five T20Is) in the Caribbean.

Meanwhile, the three-match away series against Ireland is set to begin on August 18. He also led the Mumbai Indians in some Indian Premier League games in the absence of Rohit Sharma. He has also served as Hardik Pandya's deputy early this year in home matches against Australia and New Zealand.

Notably, the Ireland tour will be one of the most important overseas tours for India this year. Senior players like Jasprit Bumrah, Prasidh Krishna, and Shreyas Iyer are likely to make a comeback through this tour. As the Indian Cricket Board has released a detailed report about their rehabilitation, Bumrah and Prasidh are most likely pacers for India in Ireland.

Apart from these players, like KL Rahul and Rishabh Pant are also looking to make a comeback. However, Pant's comeback is looking very far from his Ireland tour, despite his amazing recovery rate. Meanwhile, Rahul might also get a chance to prove his fitness ahead of the Asia Cup and ODI World Cup.

For all those complaining in the comment section, Isn't it obvious? Suryakumar has been the VC of this team ever since Hardik became the Captain of T20Is. So if Hardik is being rested, then surely Sky will be the captain.

Won't be surprised to see Sky taking over MI captaincy next year or in 2025. Rohit is 36 & by 37 he should ideally hand over captaincy of MI & T20Is to Surya & Hardik resp.
