The Indian Cricket Board anticipates selling tickets for the 2023 ODI World Cup online from August 10 once each staging organisation has decided on the cost of each ticket. Following a meeting with the state associations on Thursday in New Delhi, Indian Cricket Board Secretary Jay Shah stated that the sale of tickets would only take place once the full procedure had been followed.
He requested that each state organisation communicate their decided ticket pricing with the Board by July 31. For the forthcoming World Cup in 2023, they recently announced plans to secure a significant quantity of free tickets. Many people are worried that there will not be as many seats available for the general public when tickets go on sale online. It is because the allotment only comprises 500 general admission tickets and 300 hospitality tickets.
We will make arrangements so that the physical tickets can be collected: Jay Shah
Jay Shah stated during an interaction with the media, "We will make arrangements so that the physical tickets can be collected at seven-eight places one week prior to the match. We will make it hassle-free. We will start the e-ticket system in bilateral games first."
He also stated, "We have also partnered with Coca-Cola to provide complimentary water at each stadium." The Board have made strong decisions on the sanitary distribution of high-quality food goods at competitive prices during the matches. To offer free drinking water, the Board has partnered with a well-known beverage company.
The Indian Cricket Board plans to set up seven to eight ticket centres around the stadiums for easy access. Spectators can purchase tickets from these centres or online for the quadrennial championship starting on October 5, 2023. The opening match will be between England and New Zealand, the previous year's runners-up.
Additionally, the state will give the Cricket Governing Body 1295 seats for league games and 1355 tickets for the games against India and the semifinals. 500 general tickets will be provided by the state association at no cost to the Indian Cricket Board.
