India allrounder Ravindra Jadeja has claimed yet another five-wicket haul against Australia in the second test of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy. Star allrounder along with Ravichandran Ashwin brought back India into the game on Day 3 of the match. Ashwin clinched three wickets while Jadeja took seven wickets and bundled Australia for 113 runs in the second innings. India now needs 115 runs to win the match and retain the Border-Gavaskar Trophy for four consecutive years.

On day 3 Australia resumed from 61/1 and continuously lost wickets as Jadeja and Ashwin wreaked havoc together. Australian opener Travis Head got out on the very first ball of the day as Bharat caught him behind the wickets. The Aussies never looked back from there and lost wickets in quick succession. India bowled them up in a session as visitors only added 52 runs to their last-day score.

Jadeja dismissed the world’s no.1 batter Marnus Labuschagne, Alex Carry, and Peter Handscomb on Day 3 while departed Usman Khawaja late on Day 2. Ace allrounder clinched seven wickets to take his 12th five-wicket haul in the longest format of the game. Jadeja has been phenomenal since his comeback from a knee injury. He has scored crucial runs for the team and has been named man of the match in the first game.

Australia once again failed to capitalize on the start

Despite having a strong start, Australia was unable to play spin on a track that was once again not a rank turner. In the Delhi Test, the top-ranked Test team in the world set a target of 115 runs, with 9 Australian batters scoring in the single digits. India didn’t use any other bowler against the Aussies on day 3 of the game. Pacer Mohammed Shami and Axar Patel just bowled two and one overs respectively. Ravindra Jadeja took a total of 10 wickets in the second Test match, and Ashwin helped him out by taking 6 wickets.

However, Fans react to his comeback and praised his majestic bowling. A Twitter user wrote, “chha gaye bapu.”
