England fast bowler, Mark Wood, didn’t spend a lot of time on the field last year. Besides, he also missed a lot of games this year after picking up an elbow injury in March 2022. It was in December when the England speedster made his return to the England Test series.
He was part of the England Test squad for the series against Pakistan in December. His heroic spell of 6 for 26 in the second Test helped the team secure a win and, thereby, win the series.
England team is currently playing a two-match Test series against New Zealand. Jofra Archer has made his return to the team but Wood isn’t part of the squad. Nevertheless, Wood is a strong character and is someone who doesn’t like to look back what happened in the past.
With some big series coming up, England would be wanting him to be fully fit and bowl at full throttle. Amidst that, a video involving the 33-year-old has been making the rounds on the internet. In a training session, Mark Wood was seen going for a catch. However, what surprised everyone was the fact that he tried to remove his clothes before getting hold of the ball.
As soon as the ball went up in the air, Wood removed his glasses and then his T-shirt. The English seamer then removed his pants before eventually taking the catch, leaving everyone in splits.
The video has been widely shared on social media, with many cricket fans finding it amusing and praising Woakes for his sense of humour. However, some have criticized the incident, arguing that it is unprofessional and inappropriate for a professional athlete to behave in such a manner.
Here’s a look at some of the reactions from the video:
Wonder if the ball stays in the air for a little bit longer.

Taking about the ongoing second Test match between England and New Zealand, the visitors need 210 runs to win the Test match with 9 wickets in hand. Ben Duckett (23 off 29) and Ollie Robinson (1) are currently unbeaten at the crease. England, certainly, look favourite to win the match, and thereby, take the series home.
