25-year-old Indian cricketer Rishabh Pant narrowly escaped in a road accident on Friday morning. According to the police, the accident happened due to dozing off. His Mercedes went out of control and hit the divider, after which it got overturned and caught fire. After the accident, Pant came out on his own by breaking the window of the burning car. He suffered serious injuries on his head, back, and leg. According to doctors, his condition is out of danger. Here are the main things to know about the freak accident.

1. When and where did the accident happen

The accident took place at 5.30 am at Roorkee's Narsan border at the turn of Hammadpur Jhal. He was driving his own Mercedes car. After the nap, his Mercedes went uncontrolled and hit the divider. This place is 10 kilometers away from his house. At that time the speed of the car was 150 km/h. The car went on sliding for 200 meters.

2. Was going home alone to surprise his mother

Pant was going home alone. His house is near Roorkee Railway Station. Dr. Sushil Nagar told Dainik Bhaskar that he was going to surprise his mother. Pant, however, despite being injured, shattered the windscreen of his car and escaped in the nick of time to avoid fatality.

3. Where is Pant hospitalized

He was taken from Roorkee to Dehradun for treatment. He is undergoing treatment at Max Hospital here. A team of doctors is monitoring him. It is being said that if needed, he will be airlifted to Delhi. All expenses for Pant’s treatment will be incurred by the Uttarakhand government, said Pushkar Singh Dhami. 4. Doctor said, If he was wearing a seat belt, he could have gotten scorched in the car

Dr. Sushil Nagar told Dainik Bhaskar that Pant was not wearing a seat belt. So they came out safely. Had he been wearing a seat belt, he could have suffered burns after the car caught fire.

5. There were lakhs of rupees in the car, instead of helping, people were keeping it in their pockets.

It is being told that there were about three to four lakh rupees in Rishabh's car. After the incident, all the money was scattered on the road. They kept on suffering there but during this time some people instead of helping Rishabh got busy stuffing notes in their pockets and making videos.
