India captain Rohit Sharma was offended by the broadcaster for claiming that his 30th ODI hundred in the third ODI against New Zealand was his first in "three years," despite the fact that he had played only twelve 50-matches during that time for a variety of reasons.

The broadcaster for India vs New Zealand ODI series flashed the information that it was his first century since January 2020. The statistic was accurate, but Rohit felt it did not paint the whole picture and he said that the broadcaster should show the real picture to the audience.

"I’ve played only twelve ODIs in three years. So three years sounds like a lot. But in that three years, I’ve played only twelve or 13 ODIs, if I’m not wrong. You guys should know what's happening. I know that it was shown on broadcast but kabhi kabhi woh cheez bhi dhyan dena chahiye, broadcaster ko bhi sahi cheez dikhana chahiye (the broadcasters should give the correct picture). Everyone was sitting at home because of COVID-19. We hardly played ODIs, I was injured so I played two Tests during that time, so you have to put all of that in perspective.” he added.

Brilliant batting performance by the Indian captain

The Men in Blue skipper scored a century after a long wait of three years in the ODI circuit. He completed his century in just 83 balls. He hit nine fours and six sixes in his innings and finished with 101 runs in 85 balls. Rohit scored his last century on 19 January 2020, when he played an inning of 119 against Australia in Bangalore. Rohit also became the 3rd highest six-hitter in the history of ODIs.

The right-hander became the third player of India to score 30 centuries and also equaled the legendary Australian batter Ricky Ponting in most hundreds in ODIs. Earlier Sachin Tendulkar and Virat Kohli have done this feat. Rohit Sharma has done this feat in his 241 ODI match. Sachin holds the record for scoring the most centuries for India. Sachin has scored 49 centuries. Whereas Virat is second with 46 centuries.
