The police informed the Mumbai court on Monday that social media influencer Sapna Gill's accusation against Indian cricketer Prithvi Shaw that he assaulted her at a pub in suburban Andheri is "false and unfounded." On Monday, the investigating officer went before the magistrate presiding over the case and gave a report on the situation.

Following the submission of the police report, Gill's lawyer, Ali Kaashif Khan, asked the court to allow him to produce video evidence of the alleged brawl that Gill's buddy had captured on his phone, which had gone viral in the media. He also requested a CCTV recording of the incident outside the pub.

The police said, "Thakur wanted to record Shaw with his mobile phone, but the cricketer stopped him from taking videos. On perusal of the footage, it doesn't appear that Shaw and others molested Gill in any way."

Police noted that they had recorded statements from witnesses present in the pub where the alleged event happened and that no one improperly touched Gill. Police also investigated CCTV footage from the nearby Air Traffic Control (ATC) tower, which shows the social media influencer following Shaw's car with a baseball bat in her hand. According to the video, she cracked the windscreen of the cricketer's car.

When they noticed the cops arriving, her male buddy snatched the bat from her and tossed it to the side. According to the story, none of the males on the scene were assaulting the woman, citing a Cisf official's remark.

According to police, the enquiry performed in response to Gill's complaint indicated that the claims against Prithvi Shaw and others are false/unfounded. Gill and others were detained in February in connection with an alleged attack on Shaw at a suburban hotel after a disagreement about pictures.

Following his release on bail, Gill went to the Airport police station and filed a complaint against Shaw, his buddy Ashish Yadav, and others for alleged molestation and outraging modesty. She later went to court when the police failed to file a case against the cricketer.
