Rajasthan Royals won the 17th match of the Indian Premier League 2023 by 3 runs against Chennai Super Kings in a thrilling match at MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai. After 15 years, under the captaincy of Sanju Samson, Rajasthan Royals were destined to win on this ground. The victory may have been in the hands of RR, but the dream of the domestic fans to see the stormy batting of MS Dhoni also came true.

Dhoni entertained the crowd with his batting in Chepauk and scored 32 runs in just 17 balls. Call it Sandeep Sharma's good luck or CSK's bad luck, as there was only one big shot between Chennai and victory, which Dhoni failed to hit on the last ball.

Nothing works, no data, nothing: Sanju Samson on MS Dhoni

Meanwhile, in the post-match presentation, Samson was asked by Sanjay Manjrekar if the game was ever in their pocket. In response to that, Samson indirectly talked about Dhoni, referring him to as 'that guy' in the whole conversation, and said that everyone needs to respect the former legendary Indian captain because of his ability to turn the game while him being in the middle.

"No sir, never when you have that guy (MS Dhoni) in the middle," he told Manjrekar. "You have to respect that guy and know what he can do in the middle. Everyone was involved and the match is not over till the last ball. I do a lot of planning, research, and sit down with the data team but a lot of calls have to be taken inside the ground looking at who is bowling well at what point. I only played two balls but I'm drained as if I have scored a hundred. A lot of thoughts are going around," Samson added.

"What data do you have on that guy you have just mentioned?" Manjrekar asked. "Nothing. Nothing works, no data, nothing," said Samson.
