Banglore will be one of the favourites for the upcoming edition of the Indian T20 League. The three-time finalists reached Qualifier 2 in the previous edition and will look to go a step further this year after making some additions to their squad in the 2023 auction.

Bangalore added Will Jacks to their squad

Over the last few years, Banglore-based franchise have attempted to retain a strong core and build around them, something that wasn't their strategy in the first few editions of the cash-rich league. The likes of Virat Kohli, Mohammed Siraj, and Harshal Patel have been associated with the franchise for quite a while now.

Bangalore came into the auction with INR 8.75 crore, having already retained a majority of its core from the 2022 edition. Bangalore's highest buy at the 2023 auction was England batter Will Jacks, on whom the franchise spent INR 3.2 crore.

The Bangalore-based franchise are among the four teams in the tournament (other being Punjab, Delhi, and Lucknow) to yet win the title. Last year, the side saw a change in captaincy with South Africa's Faf du Plessis taking over the leadership role. Bangalore only got too close to getting the championship thrice as they were able to reach the finals in 2009, 2011, and 2016 but it was to no luck. This was even when two big names like AB de Villiers and Virat Kohli were on the team at the same time.
