At Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad, Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and Gujarat Titans (GT) squared off in the IPL final on May 29, 2023. The final was expected to be exciting, and fans were not let down as Chennai Super Kings prevailed by a margin of five wickets. This allowed them to capture their fifth IPL title.
Jay Shah, the Indian Cricket Board's secretary, was also in attendance. However, he gained notoriety after a video of him making an outlandish gesture during that fight's final over went viral. When they saw that, supporters went berserk and severely criticised him online.
Regarding the video, Shah was caught making a questionable gesture in the game's final over when Chennai Super Kings needed 14 runs. They needed 12 runs off of four balls after two balls, at which point the camera captured him making the motion in the stands.

Chennai Super Kings chased down 171 in 15 overs to win the IPL 2023 final by DLS Method
When it comes to the game, Gujarat Titans batted first and amassed 214 runs for four wickets in 20 overs. Sai Sudharsan, who scored 96 runs off just 47 balls, was the star of the show. Due to the severe rain, their target was lowered to 171 runs in 15 overs for the chase. Finally, when Chennai Super Kings needed 10 runs off the final two balls while chasing 171 runs in 15 overs, Ravindra Jadeja maintained his composure.
He smashed Mohit Sharma with one six and one four respectively, giving Chennai Super Kings a five-wicket victory. Jay Shah also took to Twitter to thank MS Dhoni and his team after such an exciting victory. He wrote: “Congratulations to @ChennaiIPL & @msdhoni for being crowned champions of #TATAIPL 2023. My sincere thanks to all our doting fans who braved the rains & returned in large numbers again to witness the final. Indian Cricket grows from strength to strength because of your unflinching support.”
