Shaheen Shah Afridi

Shaheen Shah Afridi is one of the hottest prospects in international cricket. The left-arm Pakistan pacer poses a threat with both his pace and variation. Though he will rue his chances of not being able to bowl the last over of his quota in World Cup 2022, he will look forward to making an impact in the ODI World Cup 2023. The player is gearing himself for the quadrennial event by playing the Pakistan Super League. On Sunday in the Pakistan Super League, Shaheen Shah Afridi broke the bat into two parts and made a huge impact on the first ball.

Defending 242, Shaheen Shah Afridi opened the bowling for the Lahore outfit. Mohammad Harris was on strike on the first delivery. Shaheen Shah Afridi bowled a fiery delivery that broke the bat, putting the batsman into two minds. The 22-year-old dismissed Harris in the next delivery with a delivery that was fast and accurate.

Batting first at Gaddafi Stadium, Lahore Qalandars took the opposition bowlers to task. Peshawar dismissed Mirza Baig in the second over, but Fakhar Zaman, Abdullah Shafique and Sam Billings helped the Lahore franchise to post a humongous 241 for the loss of three wickets after 20 overs. Fakhar Zaman missed out on a well-deserved century by four runs.

Though Peshawar Zalmi tried to climb the steep mountain, they eventually succumbed to the score mounted by Lahore Qalandars. The Lahore outfit registered a comfortable 40-run victory, with Shaheen Shah Afridi being the pick of the bowlers. He picked a fifer in the fixture.

Peshawar Zalmi will play Karachi Kings in their next PSL game on March 1st whereas Lahore Qalandars will lock their horns with Quetta Gladiators on March 2nd. Peshawar Zalmi will hope to defeat all the adversities and climb up the table in their next match. On the other hand, Lahore Qalandars will want to continue the fine form they are in at the moment.
