The Indian Premier League, (IPL) which is presently in its 16th edition and is about to end, drives Indian fans absolutely insane, and the crowded stadiums are a blatant indication of how much the supporters are enjoying the competition.

When it comes to Indian cricket players, they are adored not only by fans in India but also by people all over the world. Popular Bollywood actor Vicky Kaushal has revealed his affection for former Indian captain MS Dhoni. The Chennai-based team, Chennai Super Kings, which will play in its tenth IPL final this year, is currently being led by MS Dhoni. There are many admirers of the Ranchi-born captain of the four-time IPL champion team, including Vicky Kaushal.

During Qualifier 1, which featured CSK and Gujarat Titans, Kaushal joined commentators Zaheer Khan and Akash Chopra. When asked which team he was rooting for, he responded that he wanted Chennai to win the match. He continued by expressing his admiration and love for MS Dhoni, popularly known as "Mahi." The Indian actor stated, “Today, I’m supporting Chennai Super Kings as I’m an MSD loyalist, and he is my favourite. Also, since there are rumours in the air that it is his last IPL, my heart wants him to lift the trophy this year. MS Dhoni is like how a lion walks in a jungle; he knows he owns it."

Vicky Kaushal was notably promoting "Zara Hatke Zara Bachke," in which he would star opposite Sara Ali Khan. Speaking of the competition, the MS Dhoni-led CSK won the IPL 2023 Qualifier 1 and advanced to the finals for a record-breaking 10th time. They defeated the defending champions, Gujarat Titans, by 15 runs, and will play in the season's final game on May 28 in Ahmedabad against the defending champions.
