Australian fast bowler Josh Hazlewood regained his no.1 spot in the ODI rankings. However, the fans were surprised by these changes in the rankings as he hasn’t played in the 50-over played since November 2022. He is also ruled out of the ODI series against India due to an injury.

Talking about the series, both teams have won one match each and the decider is being played at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai. India won the first match by 5 wickets, courtesy of KL Rahul and Ravindra Jadeja’s brilliant unbeaten match-winning partnership.

Meanwhile, Australia defeated India by 10 wickets in the second match of the three ODI series. Batting first, the Indian team was reduced to 117 runs in 26 overs. In response, the Australian team won the match by scoring 121 runs in 11 overs. With this victory in Visakhapatnam, the Kangaroo team made a brilliant comeback into the series and the series got leveled up to 1-1.

Poor batting display by India in the 2nd ODI

Talking about the Indian team's batting performance, half of India's team returned to the pavilion in the powerplay (initial 10 overs). Indian skipper Rohit who returned after missing the first ODI couldn’t do anything special. Shubman Gill and Suryakumar Yadav could not even open their accounts. The situation was such that only four out of 11 batsmen could cross the double figure.

Virat Kohli scored the highest 31 runs. On the other hand, Axar Patel scored an unbeaten 29 to take the team past 100 runs. Jadeja scored 16, Rahul 9 and Hardik Pandya could score only one run. Australia's Mitchell Starc took five and Sean Abbott took three wickets. Nathan Ellis got two breakthroughs.

It’d be interesting to see how the Men in Blue overcome the embarrassing second-match loss in the 3rd match. The bowlers performed brilliantly in the first match while the fans expected to see some great batting performances from the batters in the second match as they were asked to bat first but they failed miserably.
