The 2023 ODI World Cup is just less than a week away. Teams are all gearing up for the mega event. The Netherlands have qualified for the ODI World Cup after 2011. They defeated the West Indies, Scotland, the USA, Oman, and Nepal in the World Cup Qualifiers 2023.

They are having a good momentum this year when compared to their overall 50-over record. The Men in Orange have won just 40 matches and have a 35.08% win percentage. The Dutch have won 6 of their 14 ODI games this year and have seen their win percentage go up to 42.85%.

They will begin their World Cup campaign against Pakistan. Then they will play last year’s finalists, New Zealand, at the same venue before travelling to Dharamsala to face South Africa. The Men in Orange will face the host India in Bengaluru.

Here's the SWOT analysis of the Netherlands:

Strength

The Netherland's biggest strength is their all-rounders. Bas de Leede, Teja Nidamanuru, and Max O'Dowd can be for the Dutch, both with the ball and bat in hand. Colin Ackermann, Shariz Ahmad, and Roelof van der Merwe can be the other names in the squad. Vikramjit Singh and Logan van Beek can also be useful as part-time options when needed for the team.

Weakness:

The team struggles with spin, both with the ball as well with the bat. They struggled the most against Sri Lanka and their spinners, losing 11 of their 20 wickets. There will be spin-friendly pitches in India and it will be a struggle for the team further in the World Cup. Aryan Dutt is their main off-spinner and adding others to that list they have a total of 52 wickets between them.

Opportunities:

They might be the underdogs and can trouble some of the big teams in the mega event. Scott Edwards, Logan van Beek, and Teja Nidamanuru carry a lot of experience in international cricket. Aryan Dutt, Vikramjit Singh, and Bas de Leede can switch gears and take calculated risks along with the experienced trio of the Dutch side.

Threats:

They are the side with nothing to lose with no expectations. The Men in Orange can surprise any team on their day and prove to be a dangerous side.
