India’s veteran middle-order batter Ajinkya will be back in action in the upcoming Test Championship final which will take place between June 7 to 11 at the Oval in London. Rahane was recently seen in the 16th edition of the Indian Premier League, where he was in tremendous form, due to which, he also got an opportunity to get into India’s Test squad.

Rahane reached London after the conclusion of IPL 2023 where his team Chennai Super Kings (CSK) became the five-time champions. Meanwhile, the 34-year-old was recently asked, “Who is his favourite travel partner in the team when in the UK?” to which he answered that the Indian captain Rohit Sharma is his favourite travelling partner. However, many fans were shocked as Rahane is usually seen most of the time with Virat Kohli and Cheteshwar Pujara.

Meanwhile, former Indian cricketer Sanjay Manjrekar believes that Rahane will be slightly relaxed during the Test Championship final as he got an opportunity at the retiring stage. However, he is not expecting much from him as he thinks there won’t be any special change in his batting style and said that his main performers will be Rohit, Kohli, and Pujara

“In terms of thinking, there will be slightly less pressure on him because he was almost dropped, and he has got one more opportunity. He will feel slightly relaxed as though he got a post-retirement scheme. Ajinkya Rahane’s form will start from his form in his last international Test match.” Manjrekar was quoted as saying by Cricket Addictor.

"I have also played first-class cricket after getting dropped. You score runs but don’t get that much confidence. I don’t think you will see a different Ajinkya Rahane in this Test match. If he is successful, it is very good, but I will not have too many expectations from him. My main players will be Rohit Sharma, Pujara, and Virat Kohli.” he added.
