Hardik Pandya has been out of action since the ODI World Cup 2023, where picked up an ankle injury during the match against Bangladesh, which forced him to withdraw halfway through the tournament. Due to the injury, he was not on the South Africa tour as well. As per the recent developments, he may not even be able to play for his country and in the Indian Premier League (IPL) in 2024. 

Previously, a video was posted by the star all-rounder and it was seen that Pandya was involved in multiple exercises during an intense gym session and it had a caption that will be great news for Indian cricket team fans, "Progress, everyday". Pandya’s appointment as a captain for the MI has been a controversial after Rohit Sharma was removed the from the leadership roles.

Pandya scored 833 runs for the Gujarat Titans in 31 matches between 2022 and 2023, with an average of 37.86 a strike rate of over 133, six half-centuries, and a best score of 87*. He also took 11 wickets for the squad. He won the IPL trophy for the team in their debut season in the most difficult T20 tournament. 

He can be seen training in the gym by using battling ropes, lifting weights and doing stretching. The Indian Cricket Board have given out an 18-week programme for the all-rounder, with a primary focus on complete rehabilitation rather than speedy recovery. Hardik Pandya will follow the programme till the beginning of the IPL 2024. Both the Men in Blue side and MI will be hoping for his return for the T20 World Cup 2024.
