They scored 72 runs in the last five overs. For the Capitals three bowlers Adil Rashid, skipper Jimmy Neesham and Daryn Dupavillon picked up one wicket each. But they leaked the runs at almost 10 per over.

Paarl Royals (PR) beat Pretoria Capitals (PRC) by 10 runs at the Centurion, on Sunday. The Capitals won the toss and elected to field first. The Royals did not have the start they needed as they lost their opener, Jason Roy. But Jos Buttler showed some positives as he got some runs and stitched a partnership with Wihan Lubbe. Skipper David Miller was once again to the rescue for the side as he did in the last game against the same opponent.    

After two quick wickets, Miller and Mitchell Van Buuren stitched a 7 of  141 runs for the fourth wicket and the two batters played a brilliant and aggressive brand of cricket. Both batters scored half-centuries struck a rate of over 160 and posted a huge total of 210/3 in their 20 overs.

Russow's fight goes in vain

In reply the Capitals did not have the start they wanted as they lost their first wicket in the 1st over, with Phil Salt getting out on the second ball. They lost their second wicket in the first over as well. Theunis de Bruyn was the next one to fall with Lungi Ngidi giving the Royals a dream start. 

But Rilee Russow and Will Jacks built a partnership of 148 runs for the third wicket; the former was dismissed on 82 off 45 balls, smashing 10 fours and 4 sixes. The latter was also back in the very next over of the game scoring 58 off 34 balls. After the big partnership, they kept on losing wickets and Neesham fell after scoring 20 off 9 balls. Ngidi was the pick of the bowlers for the Men in Pink as he picked 4 wickets in his spell. They fell short of 10 runs in the end.
