Fans react as Aiden Markram displayed resilience and slammed the second-fastest century for South Africa on a challenging batting pitch. With South Africa struggling at 85-5, Markram single-handedly propelled them to a total of 176 runs.

It has been a bizarre test match where batters have fell like nine pins and bowlers have had a feast but amid the flurry of wickets Aiden Markram stood tall like a wall. South Africa were faltering at 85-5 and and it was looking like they will be bundled out soon on a spicy pitch but Aiden Markram stepped up like a superhero for South Africa in their Test match against India in Cape Town!

Markram and Bumrah stole the show

South Africa started their day with 62-3 and were trailing by 36 runs but Jasprit Bumrah had other plans as he wreaked havoc on the South African batter taking a six-wicket haul on a difficult pitch for the batter

Things weren't looking good for South Africa, with wickets falling one after another. But Markram was like a rock, the only batsman standing strong. He played beautifully, hitting both powerful shots and delicate ones, eventually scoring a whopping 106 runs in just 103 balls.

Markram sensed that blocking on this pitch is no good so he took the attack on to the Indian bowlers and picked and choose the bowls perfectly to hit a scintillating century. That's like scoring a touchdown every few overs!

Markram scored the second-fastest test century for South Africa

This isn't the first time Markram has done something amazing. He's already scored hundreds (scoring 100+ runs) before, and this was his fastest one against India, the second fastest ever for a South African player! He's clearly a valuable player for his team.

Markram's fantastic innings gave South Africa a fighting chance in the match and showed everyone just how talented he is. He started slow and steady, making sure he wouldn't get out like the others. Then, once he felt comfortable, he unleashed his power, hitting the ball for boundaries (fours and sixes) all over the field.

He even survived a scary moment when he was dropped at 73 runs, but he kept going and reached his century in style! Although Aiden Markram eventually got out on 106 runs off the bowling off Siraj but this century by him will go as one of the best in Test cricket.
