Star India batter Virat Kohli was spotted in Rishikesh along with his wife Anushka Sharma on Monday as the couple undertook another spiritual trip. The celebrity couple reportedly made a visit to the Swami Dayanand Ji Maharaj’s samadhi at Swami Dayanand Ashram in Rishikesh. However, it’s not their first visit to Uttarakhand in recent times as the couple had also visited Neem Karoli Baba ashram in November.
Swami Dayanand Ji Maharaj was the ‘spiritual guru’ of PM Narendra Modi. PM Modi had come to meet him on September 11, 2015 and after his visit, the ashram grabbed everyone’s attention.
According to reports, Virat and Anushka will also participate in public religious rituals at the ashram and will then organise a bhandara (religious feast). A few weeks back, the couple had also visited an ashram in Vrindavan along with their daughter Vamika and sought blessings.

These spiritual journeys seem to be working for Kohli as the star batter has been in great form in ODIs where he’s scored three hundreds in the last seven matches. The 34-year-old is not part of the ongoing T20I series against New Zealand and will return to the team for the upcoming four-match Test series against Australia starting on 9th February.
The former India captain had a forgettable first half of 2022 where he struggled to score runs across formats. However, his fortunes changed as he finally brought up his elusive 71st international hundred after a gap of 1020 days. He scored a magnificent 122 unbeaten off 61 balls which was also his first-ever T20I hundred. He finished as the second-highest run scorer of the Asia Cup and then followed that up with a remarkable 20-20 World Cup.
Kohli to find his form in Tests against Australia?
He finished as the highest run scorer of the tournament scoring 296 runs at an average of 98.66 and a strike rate of 136.40. While Kohli has found his form in ODIs and T20Is, he’s yet to score a hundred in Test Cricket since 2019.
He had a forgettable series against Bangladesh where he couldn’t score a half-century in the four innings he batted. In fact, he hasn’t scored a half-century in the longest format in his last 10 innings. With Australia coming to India for a four-match Test series, fans will be hoping for Kohli to find his form and score a plethora of runs against his favourite opposition.
