Azam Khan has been making a good name for himself in the Caribbean Premier League 2023. Though the 25-year-old has not played any great knocks till now, there are glimpses of power-hitting from the Pakistan-born cricketer. The middle-order batter has made a name for himself for his hitting capabilities. In the match against Trinbago Knight Riders, Azam Khan displayed his power hitting.
With just 44 runs required in 34 balls with 7 wickets in hand, Khan was on strike. The right-arm batter faced Jayden Seales, who went around the wicket for Azam. Seales bowled a good-length delivery outside off. Khan picked up the delivery and dispatched it for a six with his clean hitting. It was so clean that the batter did not even look at the shot after his timing.
Massive six from Azam Khan against Jayden Seales
The timing, the execution, the connection, the distance, everything was perfect. Azam hit the ball towards the deep mid-wicket region and fetched six runs. The hit was so good that the ball traveled to a distance of 101 meters. It was very impressive. The wicketkeeper batter of GAW just made it look totally effortless, which was so good to watch. The commentators praised the shot of Azam Khan.
The clean hitting ability of Khan has received praise from everyone. GAW won the match comfortably by 6 wickets against TKR. Earlier in the match, Junior Sinclair produced the moment of the match with a sensational run out. It looked like Jonty Rhodes’ efforts at his peak in the 1990s. The run out helped GAW to dismiss a dangerous batter like Martin Guptill.
TKR managed to post 176 runs on the board, thanks to a very good knock from Keacy Carty, who scored 83 runs in 49 balls. Chasing the target, Saim Ayub, Odean Smith, and Shai Hope played good knocks. Ayub scored 37 runs in 24 balls. Smith scored 44 runs in 32 balls. Hope scored an unbeaten 54 runs in 37 balls. Imran Tahir won the player of the match award for his good spell.
