RCB skipper Faf du Plessis had a slow start against LSG in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023. He was not able to middle the ball and timing was not his best friend in the initial phase. But as the innings progressed, he started to find his range and play all his shots. This got the Bengaluru crowd going with explosive hitting. Du Plessis made a stunning unbeaten 79 off 46 balls with five fours and five sixes.
Du Plessis during the course of his innings, weaved his magic with the bat that absolutely marvelled at the Chinnaswamy crowd. It was in the fourth ball of the 14th over when Ravi Bishnoi dropped a ball which was slightly short, and Du Plessis rocked back on it to send the ball out of the stadium. The ball went out of sight and went 115 metres long over the roof. It was brute power from the South African veteran.

That six was one of the longest in the IPL. RCB had a great innings and got to 212 off their 20 overs. Virat Kohli played the role of the aggressor at the start and took off like a bullet train. The former RCB skipper made 61 off 4 balls with four fours and four sixes. When Kohli fell with the score at 96-1, then it all came down to Du Plessis and Glenn Maxwell.
Maxwell had not played a lot of cricket over the last few months. The right-hander would have been unsure of his form coming into the IPL. But he managed to get past that and scored an electric 59 off 29 balls with three fours and six sixes. He took RCB till the end and formed a big partnership with the skipper.
RCB will be happy that Maxwell is back in form. They would want an dynamic all-rounder like him to go all guns blazing so that the franchise can have a great tournament and try to get their hands on that elusive IPL trophy that has not been in their grasp over 15 editions of the IPL.
