Indian players who will be a part of the ODI squad against Sri Lanka have started their preparations for the upcoming series. The likes of Shreyas Iyer and Mohammed Shami hit the nets, while Mohammed Siraj was seen sweating out in the gym. To note, Rohit Sharma-led squad will take on the visitors in a three-match ODI series starting on January 10.
India fast bowler Shami was recently spotted working on his batting abilities in the nets. The speedster shared a video on his Instagram account on Saturday and gave some glimpses of his practice session to the fans.

Making his comeback to the Indian ODI set-up, Shami will look to give his best to cement his place in the ODI squad. The speedster played his last ODI game against England in July 2022. Shami has some impressive numbers in the 50-over format. He has played 82 matches and scalped 152 wickets. However, his economy is on the little higher side at 5.6. He also has a five-wicket haul to his name.
Senior Players will be back in action for the ODI series
India’s fast bowling leader, Jasprit Bumrah is also included in the ODI series against Sri Lanka starting on January 10. He was first sidelined due to a stress fracture in his back ahead of the Asia Cup but seems to have completely recovered after a long rest and witnessing violent recuperation at the NCA. Bumrah was out of cricketing action from September 2022 and was also ruled out of the 20-20 World Cup.
It is noted that the senior players were given rest in the T20 series against Sri Lanka but for the ODI series, the likes of Rohit, Virat Kohli, and KL Rahul will be back in action. The opening fixture of the ODI series will be played in Guwahati while the second and third matches will be played in Kolkata and Thiruvanathapuram respectively.
