The first match of the four-match Test series against Australia is being played between India and Australia in Nagpur on Thursday, February 9. Australia won the toss and decided to bat first. The Indian fast bowlers, Mohammed Shami and Mohammed Siraj started putting pressure on Australia from the very beginning. Australia lost 2 important wickets in 3 overs.
Indian team's star bowler Shami is in dangerous form these days and is beating the giants with his pace and swing. He did the same in the first Test match being played against Australia. In the first over, he troubled David Warner by beating him with his pace. As soon as he came to bowl his second over, he swung the ball inwards, which Warner could not get and the ball went straight into the stumps.

The speed of the ball was so high that the stumps started rolling in the air and later fell to the ground. Warner always gets in trouble while facing the pacer from round the wicket. England’s fast bowler Stuart Broad was all over him in the 2019 Ashes. Shami has had great success with this angle too in Tests and he got the length delivery to nip back in. Ball brushed the pad and took off stump out for quite a sight.
Suryakumar Yadav made his Test Debut
The last time Aussies came to India for Tests we witnessed a fierce battle. Australia stunned India in Pune, but India bounced back brilliantly in Bengaluru in an absolutely intense game on and off the field. Australia dragged a draw in Ranchi but India clinched the crown in Dharamshala. And the bar was raised further with India's next two visits to Australia with the first (2018-19) resulting in India's first-ever Test series win in Australia, followed by what is said to be India's greatest-ever Test series win (2021/22)
Meanwhile, the no.1 ranked T20 batter, Suryakumar Yadav is making his Test debut for the Indian team. KS Bharat is also handed his cap as he too is set to make his debut. However, many fans and cricket experts have criticized Suryakumar’s inclusion as the team management ignored the in-form batter Shubman Gill who smashed five hundreds in all formats since December 2022 but is not in the playing XI.
