Talking about the match, RCB won the toss and opted to bowl first and their decision proved right initially as the bowlers were able to dismiss KKR's 5 batters on the score of just 89 runs. However, they didn't imagine what they were about to witness next as allrounder Shardul Thakur played a memorable inning of 68 runs off just 29 deliveries which included 9 fours and 3 sixes.
A brilliant all-round performance by KKR
Rinku kept one end safe and let Thakur do the talking with his bat. Both stitched a wonderful 103-run stand for the 6th wicket and helped the team to achieve a total of 204 runs. Chasing the target, RCB openers Virat Kohli and du Plessis started the innings aggressively as they both went after KKR's pacers for boundaries. And then, skipper Nitish Rana finally brought Sunil Narine into the attack and he didn’t disappoint as he bowled Kohli in his very first over.
And after this, KKR's new spinning trio Varun Chakravarthy, Suyash Sharam, and Narine as they broke the back of RCB's middle order and bundle out them for just 123 runs and won the match comprehensively by 81 runs. Shardul Thakur won the Player of the Match award as played a brilliant knock and took a wicket as well.
