Star India batter Virat Kohli made a visit to the Swami Dayanand Ji Maharaj’s samadhi at Swami Dayanand Ashram in Rishikesh on Monday. Kohli was spotted with his actor wife Anushka Sharma as the celebrity couple undertook another spiritual trip. The photographs of the Indian cricketer and Anushka at the sacred place are being widely circulated on social media.

A video is also being widely shared where the former India captain can be seen giving autographs to his fans present at the Ashram. As some fans began taking his video, Kohli politely requested them to turn off the cameras to not spoil the decorum of the religious place.

It’s not the first visit of the couple to Uttarakhand in recent times as they had also visited Neem Karoli Baba ashram in November. According to reports, Swami Dayanand Ji Maharaj was the ‘spiritual guru’ of PM Narendra Modi. PM Modi had come to meet him on September 11, 2015 and after his visit, the ashram grabbed everyone’s attention.

Kohli and Anushka will also participate in public religious rituals at the ashram and will then organise a bhandara (religious feast).

The 34-year-old has been rested from the ongoing T20I series against New Zealand as the Indian Cricket Board is giving importance to ODIs in the world cup year. The series is level 1-1 with a game left to be played on Wednesday at Narendra Modi Stadium, Ahmedabad.

Meanwhile, Kohli has found his form back in limited-overs cricket as he has notched up three hundreds in the last seven ODIs. He also finished as the leading run-scorer of the 20-20 World Cup 2022 where he ended up scoring 296 runs at an average of 98.66 and a strike rate of 136.40.

Kohli scored just one fifty in Tests in 2022

While the star batter has been in imperious form in limited overs cricket, the same has not been the case in Test cricket. He hasn’t beeViratn able to score a half-century in the last ten innings in the format of the game. His last fifty-plus score came against South Africa on 11th Jan 2022 when he scored 79 in Cape Town.

With the all-important Test series starting against Australia on February 9th, fans will be expecting some big runs from Kohli’s bat against his favourite opposition.
