The Women's Premier League (WPL) 2024 auction is just a day away. The auction is scheduled in Mumbai on December 9. Fans are eagerly awaiting the second season to start. Mumbai Indians won the first season beating Delhi Capitals in the final of the inaugural edition. A total of 165 players from five franchises, Mumbai Indians (MI), Delhi Capitals (DC), UP Warriorz (UPW), Gujarat Giants (GG), and Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) will go under the hammer during the auction. 104 Indian players and 61 overseas players. 

The teams can take up to 30 players, with 9 spots remaining for international players. Gujarat Giants have the largest money left in their purse 5.95 crore INR. The reigning champions have the least money remaining in their bank account, with 2.1 crore INR. Deandra Dottin of the West Indies and Kim Garth of Australia made the headlines, both set a base price of 50 lakh INR.

The former South African pace bowler is the highest wicket-taker in T20Is with 123 wickets in 113 matches. She brings a lot of experience, as she has participated in eight T20 World Cups for South Africa. Ismail has a base price of Rs 40 lakh and can be targeted by all the franchises as they would love to add an experienced fast bowler to the side to bolster their pace attack. The 35-year-old pacer has picked eight wickets in 14 matches for the Hobart Hurricanes.

4. Danielle Wyatt

Danielle Wyatt had gone unsold last season. This time she could get a high bid after she produced some blistering knocks in Women’s Hundred. He scored 265 runs at a strike rate of 141.14. Wyatt has an impeccable record in India, scoring 459 runs in 16 games. The explosive English batter is a T20 specialist and has performed consistently with her aggressive batting and ability to dominate opposition bowling. 

3. Amanda-Jade Wellington

Amanda-Jade Wellington finished WBBL 2023 as the third-highest wicket-taker. She had not signed up for the WPL 2023. However, Amanda will appear in the WPL 2024 auction this time. In WBBL 2023, the Australian bowler bagged 23 wickets. Amanda had delivered the winning over in the WBBL final for Adelaide Strikers. She might also get a big buy in the auction.

Devika Vaidya has been the rising star of women's cricket in India. She was a member of the Indian women's team that won the gold medal at the Asian Games 2023 in Hangzhou, China. Vaidya is one the finest young all-rounder and has set a base price of 30 lakh INR. She would be in rader for all the franchises and the teams would love to add her to the squad. She has bagged 10 wickets in 17 matches.

Deandra Dottin

Deandra Dottin the West Indies all-rounder is known for her big-hitting abilities. The right-handed batter has set a base price of 50 lakh INR. Dottin was in the WPL 2023, the 32-year-old was initially bought by Gujarat Giants for Rs 60 lakh but left the squad due to medical reasons. She has a hundred to her name in international T20Is and 62 wickets to her name as well. She will be sold to the franchise at a high price due to her immense ability to score explosively.
