The ongoing Ashes 2023 series in England has brought the fire back in the cricket universe which was missing over the past few months. Australia have taken a 2-0 lead over the English side by winning the first 2 Tests. The visitors have produced brilliant all-round performances in the 1st two Tests of the series.
Meanwhile, the Kangaroos were brutally trolled and booed by the Lord’s crowd after Alex Carey run out England’s wicketkeeper-batter Jonny Bairstow in a controversial manner. The trolls were not limited to the cricketers as Steve Smith’s mother was forced to leave the stadium as the fans were taunting her badly.
However, the Australian team management have now asked for extra security for their families in the upcoming 3rd Test at the Headingley. It’s very shameful that the cricketer’s families had to go through all of this and are getting involved in this for no reason. England’s crowd are known for their active involvement in the match, especially in Test cricket.
"The Australian cricket side has requested extra security be provided for families after abusive fans left one staff member's 11-year-old son in tears and forced one player's mother to leave the Lord's Ashes Test on the fifth day," a report was quoted as saying by NDTV Sports.
England might make some changes for 3rd Test
Australia are already 2-0 up in the series and a win in the 3rd Test will make them the winner of the iconic Ashes series. England's bowling didn't look much effective and they might look for some changes in the upcoming matches. Their veteran fast bowler James Anderson has failed to produce anything special for the teams so they might replace him with the pace battery Mark Wood.
Star allrounder, Moeen Ali was rested in the 2nd Test but is likely to be back in the squad for the 3rd Test. On the other hand, the Kangaroos have been brilliant with the selection but they suffered a huge blow ahead of the 2nd Test when Nathan Lyon got injured. Todd Murphy is expected to replace him.
