Australia already won the first ODI of the five-match ODI series against South Africa. They previously won the T20I Series against South Africa 3-0. Both teams have started their practice for the upcoming ODI World Cup CWC 2023. In the second ODI against South Africa, the Aussies were put into bat first and Tim David and Aaron Hardie were handed their first ODI caps, who also debuted on the T20I leg.

Marnus Labuschagne's ODI form continues after the snub from the provisional 15-men squad for the World Cup. He was a hero in their first ODI against SA. Labuschagne came in as a concussion substitute for Cameron Green in the first ODI and fought against the odds with Ashton Agar to give them a win. With the help of his 80-run inning Australia won the match by 3 wickets. In the ongoing second ODI, he again turned out to be the hero as he scored a hundred batting first and completed his 1000 ODI runs as well.

Marnus Labuschagne and David Warner score big for Australia

Temba Bauvma won the toss and elected to field first. His decision of fielding first did not go quite well as the five-time World champions put up their hundred in just 9.5 overs. With Travis Head and David Warner striking the Protea bowlers all around the park. They put up a 109-run partnership after which Travis Head eventually was picked up by Tabriz Shamsi, he scored 64 runs off 36 balls, at a strike rate of 177.77, hitting 9 fours and 3 sixes.

Warner who got off to a start in the first ODI showed his class in the second one as he scored a brilliant century just before the World Cup campaign. It gave an immense boost to the left-hander who was struggling to score runs. He scored 106 runs off 93 balls, hitting 12 fours and 3 sixes and striking at a rate of 113.97.

The Southpaw along with Labuschagne stitched a 150-run partnership in 121 balls. The latter has given answers to the selectors who left him out of the team by two match-winning knocks. He scored 124 runs off 99 balls, hitting 19 fours and one six. He has been sensational since the start of the ODI series. Labuschagne will now be hoping to break into the World Cup squad on the back of his brilliant performances in both ODIs.
