In the present IPL, Rajasthan Royals (RR) will play Gujarat Titans (GT) on May 5, 2023. Gujarat Titans are the defending champions. The game will take place in Jaipur, and RR defeated GT in the reverse match in Ahmedabad. Therefore, Sanju Samson and his teammates will try to beat GT twice this season.

RR uploaded a video of Joe Root, Dhruv Jurel, and Devdutt Padikkal playing the game "This or That" on their Twitter account before the match. The game had two possibilities available, and each player had to select one. One question was whether they would prefer to play for MS Dhoni or Virat Kohli as captain, among the others. In response, everyone picked Dhoni over Kohli, and after viewing this, fans posted some amusing comments on social media.

Joe Root is yet to make his debut for Rajasthan Royals

Devdutt Padikkal had played under Dhoni when he was a player for Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB). Hence the fact that he chose MS Dhoni over Kohli surprised several fans. Padikkal and Jurel have played numerous games so far this season. In eight games, Jurel has scored 132 runs at a strike rate of 191.30. His brief but significant appearances have aided RR in scoring or pursuing important runs. In eight games, Devdutt Padikkal has scored 194 runs at an average of 27.71.

Joe Root has not yet played for RR, though. This season, CSK has lost both of their games vs RR. With 34 runs off 15 balls, including three fours and two sixes, Jurel scored 34 runs in the most recent match, which RR won by 32 runs. MS Dhoni complimented him for his cameo after the game, and in response, he stated the following in the post-game press conference: "I'm fortunate enough to share the field with MS Dhoni. I have always dreamt of it. I don't feel the pressure; I feel motivated. He's behind me; he's watching me; that's enough for me."
