Pakistan pacers, Naseem Shah and Haris Rauf were ruled out of the ongoing Asia Cup 2023 ahead of their must-win game against Sri Lanka. During their game against India, both bowlers got injured. Shah, who has carried an injured shoulder since the Lanka Premier League 2023, got injured badly. On the other hand, on the reserve day against India, Rauf pulled his oblique muscle which is why he didn't bowl further.
This led to both players being replaced by Zaman Khan and Shahnawaz Dahani. The former made his ODI debut while Dahani reached Sri Lanka only during the game. In the game, the two-time winners batted first after winning the toss and amassed 252/7. In reply, the home team had a great start but had a few hiccups but managed to chase down the target on the last ball of the game.
With this, India and Pakistan won't play the final of the continental tournament once again. Meanwhile, after the game, Pakistan skipper Babar Azam has confirmed that Shah might miss the first few games during ODI World Cup 2023

1. Fakhar's bad form to be replaced by someone like Shafiq alongside some like him in the opening pair.
2. With Babar, Imam and Rizwan along with Iftikar, the middle order is now stable
