Islamabad United and Karachi Kings clashed against each other in the 19th match of the ongoing Pakistan Super League on Friday, March 3, at the Pindi Club Ground in Rawalpindi. The league has already witnessed some nail-biting and thrilling matches so far. However, on Friday, Islamabad’s bowler Hasan Ali displayed a brilliant piece of fielding.

During the 19th over of the first innings, Ali teamed up with his teammate Rassie van der Dussen to take an amazing relay catch. Irfan Khan came down the pitch and played a big slog shot towards long-on. Fielding at that place, Ali caught the ball, which was going for a six. Before he fell outside the boundary, he threw the ball towards Dussen, coming from long off. He easily caught the ball and the batsman had to return to the pavilion.

Hasan Ali, who has been in and out of the Pakistan team, has bowled brilliantly in this tournament. He has taken 8 wickets in 4 matches. However, he conceded 40 runs against Karachi and took only 1 wicket in his four overs quota. Talking about the entire match, Karachi won the toss and elected to bat first but they didn’t get a good start as they lost their 3 batters in the powerplay.

Azam Khan played a match-winning knock of 72 runs

Things got even worse when they were reduced to 78/4. Interestingly all the batters got a brilliant start but couldn’t convert them into a big one. However, Karachi’s captain Imad Wasim steadied the ship and played an unbeaten knock of 92 runs off just 54 balls, which included 11 fours and 2 sixes, and also stitched a 99-run partnership with Irfan, which helped the team to achieve a monumental total of 201 runs.

Chasing the target, Islamabad also started badly as they lost their first wicket on the score of just 12 runs. However, it proved to be wicketkeeper Azam Khan’s day as he smashed unbeaten 72 runs off just 41 balls which included 8 fours and 4 sixes. He also stitched a match-winning 125-run partnership with Faheem Ahmed and turned the game around as they won the match by 6 wickets.
