'Badhia kaam kia hain'- Fans react as Virat Kohli signs autograph to Sompal Kami on his shoes

Former India skipper Virat Kohli is a global icon on and off the field. He was seen taking photographs and giving autographs to the Nepal cricketers, after India beat Nepal by 10 wickets in an all-important Asia Cup match, at the Pallekele International Cricket Stadium, Kandy.

Nepal pacer Sompal Kami interacted with Team India's star batter following the Asia Cup 2023 clash between the two sides. After receiving the autograph on his shoe and the picture together, the Nepali pacer said that it was a dream come true for him.

The 27-year-old also mentioned that the former India captain is a lot more than just a cricketer. He shared an Instagram post after the game, showcasing the shoe on which Kohli gave his autograph. The pacer said, in that post "It's an emotional moment for me, a dream come true to have Virat's autograph on my shoes." He also captioned, "Virat Kohli is not just a cricketer, he's an emotion."

Coming to the match India won the toss and elected to field first.  They did not get off to the start they needed as they dropped three catches in the initial overs. Aasif Sheikh was the top run-getter for Nepal with a 58-run knock. Sompal Kami also made a valuable contribution towards the back end, scoring 48 runs. They were bowled out for 230 runs.

In reply the Men in Blue got off to the start they needed, they were 17/0 in just 2.1 overs before rain interrupted the play. The target was later revised to 145 as per the DLS method after a rain-enforced break. Both the openers Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill looked in fine touch with the former scoring 74 runs off 59 balls hitting six fours and five sixes, played at a strike rate of 125.42, and the latter scored 67 runs off 62 balls hitting 8 fours and one six, with a strike rate of 108.06 respectively. India will battle it out against arch-rivals Pakistan in Colombo on Sunday.
