'It will be a big achievement...- India star all rounder wishes to see Ravichandran Ashwin complete 500 wickets in 1st Test vs England

There have been a lot of world-class Indian spinners in the Indian team, who have been impressive every time they stepped into the field. The likes of Bishan Singh Bedi and Anil Kumble have been legends who have created a platform for these upcoming talents. The ongoing India vs England series has been the story of the spinners as well. The first day saw 11 wickets fall out of which 9 were taken by the spinners. It was Ravichandran Ashwin, Axar Patel and Ravindra Jadeja who were the stars with the ball, getting the better of the powerful English batting lineup.

The Ashwin and Jadeja duo is currently one of the best bowlers in Test cricket, known for their subtle variations and wicket-taking ability. Both these world-class spinners have over 750 wickets between them in Test matches, making them the go-to bowlers in need of breakthroughs on any given surface. Ashwin is just 7 wickets away from reaching a milestone that has been reached by only Kumble among the Indian bowlers in Test cricket. This will certainly be a big  milestone for the 37-year-old spinner, who is currently the 2^nd highest wicket-taker for India in Test matches.

Jadeja on Ashwin’s milestone

Who will know Ashwin better than his favourite bowling partner Jadeja, who is an equally skilled player in Test cricket as much as Ashwin? This spin twin duo has created havoc in many batters' lives in the longest format. The top-ranked all-rounder from Jamnagar has spoken about Ashwin during an interview on JIO Cinema on his milestone saying, “It will be a big achievement if Ashwin completes 500 Test wickets and I hope he gets it in this match”. Jadeja also mentioned that he wishes that Ashwin would complete the milestone in the ongoing Test match itself.

The interview showed how much respect Jadeja has for his bowling partners with whom he has had a lot of great partnerships. The chemistry and consistency of these two bowlers have been exceptional and we might not see a better spin bowling duo in the Indian team. They have won their team a lot of big games and we hope that the 500 milestones will come as soon as possible. Ashwin and Jadeja have been examples of spinners, who, along with drift and turn, have great accuracy as well. They have given us some great years in cricket, which will be remembered for a long time.
